Be a Dinner Buddy!

Have you ever attended a function and knew absolutely NO ONE in the room?  You try to not act like a wallflower.  Perhaps, you slowly walk near a group of people waiting for someone to talk to you.  Without knowing it, you have successfully studied the intricate pattern of the Oriental rug  that you are standing on.  It is a situation that we all can relate to.

Yet, it would all be different if one had a "dinner buddy" to meet at the function and sit with during dinner.

The NJ Chapter will institute a "dinner meeting buddy program" beginning with September 30, 2004 dinner meeting.  See the attached flyer for additional information about this meeting.

You can help a meeting's first time attendee feel welcome by being their dinner buddy for that particular meeting.

Being a dinner buddy does not require you to fill out a lot of paperwork, (except for the registration form of course) no report to submit, no need to give up your first born-just pleasant dinner conversation with someone who is attending one of our chapter meetings for the first time.

On the bottom of this meeting's (and future meeting's) registration form(s), you will see "Would you like to be a buddy to a first time attendee?"  I encourage you to check off that box and welcome a new face to our chapter's meetings.  Remember, it was not too long ago that YOU were a new face to the chapter.
