NJSLA 70th Anniversary
2004-2005

Note from our Global Colleague Widharto

Dear Ms. Creazzo and all members of    SLA-NJ Chapter

I understand that tomorrow, 27 October 2004, all of  you members of
SLA-NJC will celebrate the chapter 70th Anniversary. To mark this notable event I understand that the chapter will organize some interesting programs, such as dinner and also other different meetings.

As a remote member of NJ Chapter, I should also enjoy this memorable event. However, as I am far away from New Jersey, through this e-mail may I come and congratulate all of you, for this anniversary. As an international association with a lot of resources and experiences, I am sure that NJC may become partner of developing countries in its library development. As the need for improving information management has become more urgent in the developing countries, and as I understand that NJC is a resourceful association, this  North - South cooperation will become the channel of  the NJC to share its wealth of experiences. Happy anniversary and have successful meetings.

Sincerely yours,

Widharto

Thanks from Ethyl Salonen, our guest at the 70th anniversary dinner

I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful time I had speaking to the Chapter at the SLA NJ dinner and celebration of your 70th Anniversary. Dinner was excellent and the audience was excellent.  We had quite a bit of good discussion and questions.

The next day my visit with the students at SCILS was also fun.  The Rutgers Club was very nice - I understand you have your business meetings there - and we had a good turnout of students, professors, and a representative from Thomson West.  We discussed issues and some ways to handle looking for jobs.

Thank you for inviting me to participate in your celebration.  Also, the "Encyclopedia of New Jersey" is filled with stuff I never knew about.  All the best to you and your chapter this coming year.
