President, Erin Knight:

1. Michael Crumpton has joined the board as Diversity Chair

2. Card for Connie going around – discuss charities

3. Bonnie handed out Treasurer’s Report – balance of $6925.00

4. Everyone look over Chapter Practices – think of a blurb you could do one month. Everyone take turns for a month to contribute to the newsletter

5. Archives – can not be in a private archive…will be at UNC SILS

Upcoming Activity: October 2004 at Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro – Ann Caputo (Factiva) Marketing Ideas for the Information function. Will include a networking lunch, workshop, and tour of the library

LaTasha Martin is the new Charlotte area coordinator

Sandra Chambers – Second year Director:

Upcoming Activity: December 2004 Competitive Intelligence Workshop at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill 2^nd or 9^th ½ day program, $35-55 for the day? Standard luncheon in dining hall. Will have vendor fair.

Sperry Krueger – Past President:

• Finish reviewing Chapter Practices – take DRAFT off the document!
• Ideas for who should win Horizon Award

Betty Jo Hibberd – Communications Team Leader:

• First Communications Newsletter arrived in August! (targeting first week of the month)
• Fresh articles and links for website – volunteer Brandy Born
• Wants to get involved with Charlotte group – volunteer Jill Kutz (legal librarian)
• Raleigh area – volunteer Pam
• Advertising on website is not allowed – maybe do a pdf bulletin (no restriction on bulletin advertising) and put ads there to bring in money
