Occupation/title: Group Director, Library & Information Services
Birthday: February 8
Birthplace: Greensboro, NC
Pets/children: Husband, Drayten Young. Son, Nathan Young
Most relaxing activity: Rocking and reading on a screened in porch in a cabin in the mountains, preferably near a stream or waterfall. Identifying wildflowers on a hike. Yoga.
Last good movie/concert/event I saw: Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?
Favorite food group: Chocolate
Major accomplishment: Working my way through a B.A. and an MLIS while working full time. My son is my greatest accomplishment, but I can't claim full credit for him!
If I won the lottery, I would: Pay off the house, and use the financial security to facilitate working part time for a nonprofit environmental group, trying to preserve the planet in a healthy state for future generations.
Favorite website: http://www.christgreensboro.org/home/index.html
Last good book I read: Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver
Most influenced by: civil rights, environmental issues, family & faith
If I weren't a librarian, I'd be: working towards a safer environment for future generations. Using lessons learned at the Center for Creative Leadership and through experience, I'd try to bring people together around this fundamental issue.
The one thing I really hate to do in the library is: explain copyright policies.
Other information: For photos of my fabulous son, you don't need a username or password. Visit the photo albums section at http://www.aaafamilysites.com/family/nathan/home.html
