Employer: The Center for Creative Leadership
Occupation/title: Reference Librarian
Birthplace: St. Paul , Minnesota
Birthday: August 5th
Pets/children: My little dog Annie (who thinks she's a cat) ... and my husband!
Most relaxing activity: Reading (no surprise there) or vegging out on the couch with the family watching Buffy (and all things Whedonesque).
Last good movie/concert/event I saw: Generally I'm not much of a Bond fan, but I thought Daniel Craig did a smash-up job in Casino Royale .
Major accomplishment: Getting my MLIS while working full-time.
Favorite food group: Battered and fried...or Asian...or Italian....or Mexican....or....
If I won the lottery, I would: Pay-off my student loans and then build a straw-bale house out in the country - complete with an artist's studio. I would also hire my own personal chef and never cook again - not that I do much cooking to begin with.
Favorite website: NPR's All Songs Considered : http://www.npr.org/programs/asc/
Last good book I read: I've been in a new read lurch so I've been re-reading the classics. Just finished the Little House series for the umpteenth time and my new favorite series - Ender's Game .
Most influenced by: My best friend/husband Kevin.
If I weren't a librarian, I'd be: Green architect or textile artist.
What I really like about my job is: All the innovation and flexibility. We're encouraged to be creative and find new ways to flex our information muscle. Right now we're exploring the library as Third Place .
My favorite SLA memory is: SLA Toronto. It was my first conference and the fist time traveling by myself.
Positions I've held or work I've done for SLA :
The one thing I really hate to do in the library is: Abstract. I did so much of it in my interning days that I find it mind-numbing now.
People would be surprised to know that I: wanted to be a fighter pilot when I was younger. Ironically, flying is starting to freak me out more and more with each passing year.
