To subscribe to the list send an email as follows to lists@lists.sla.org:
Leave the subject line blank and in the message body type
subscribe SLA-CNC <your first_name> <your last_name>
For example:
subscribe SLA-CNC Joan Smith
DISCUSSION LIST GUIDELINES | Back to the Menu
1. Discussion list should be used for the legitimate business purposes of the North Carolina Chapter of SLA
2. Copyrighted materials should not be posted on the discussion list without the permission of the copyright holder(s)
3. Don't flame (criticize another member of the list) on the discussion list. You should not send or respond to a "flaming" message.
4. Refrain from sending large files to the discussion list. Large files consume system resources and may cause your message to be undeliverable.

Send your messages by e-mail to the list address: SLA-CNC@lists.sla.org
Clearly identify the topic of your message in the subject line and repeat your e-mail address at the end of your message (if you don't have a signature file).
RETRIEVING YOUR SLA-CNC PASSWORD | Back to the Menu
This list is configured to assign a unique password to each subscriber. You will need your list password if you wish to change your subscriber email address. To get your list password, send an email as follows to lists@lists.sla.org:
Leave the subject line blank and in the body of the message type
set SLA-CNC
CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD | Back to the Menu
To change your list password send an email as follows to lists@lists.sla.org:
Leave the subject line blank and in the body of the message type
set SLA-CNC password <your current password> <your new password>
For example, if your current password is "oldpass" and you want to change it to "newpass":
set SLA-CNC password oldpass newpass
CHANGING LIST EMAIL ADDRESSES | Back to the Menu
If you want to change your email address you can unsubscribe with your old email address and re-subscribe with your new email address, or you can send the following command if you have your list password:
Send an email to lists@lists.sla.org, leave the subject line blank and in the body of the message type:
set SLA-CNC <your old address> <your list password><your new address>
For example, if your password is "newpass":
set SLA-CNC cmw58603@hotmail.com newpass cmw58603@gsk.com
LIST OPTIONS | Back to the Menu
Send the following message to lists@lists.sla.org to customize your options settings. Leave the subject line blank and type any of these commands into the body of the message:
Set SLA-CNC
(to see your current options setting)
Set SLA-CNC mail ack
(messages you send are sent back to you - this is the default)
Set SLA-CNC mail noack
(messages you send are not sent back to you)
Set SLA-CNC mail digest
(messages from the list are compiled and then sent to you according to the distribution time period set by the list owner)
Set SLA-CNC mail postpone
(messages are not sent to you. To receive messages again, you must send one of the three prior commands to change the mail mode to ACK or NOACK or DIGEST)
