Chapter Awards
Each year the North Carolina Chapter presents the Meritorious Achievement, Horizon,
Information Management, and Sara Aull Student Paper awards to chapter members.
Meritorious Achievement Award
The Meritorious Achievement award is presented to the Chapter colleague who has made
outstanding or notable contributions to the Chapter and to the profession. To be eligible, a nominee must have
been a Chapter member in good standing for at least the past four years. Outstanding
efforts on behalf of the Chapter, notable innovations on the job, participation in seminars or other similar activities which
benefit the Chapter or promote public recognition of the profession, will be the criteria for final selection.
Horizon Award
This award is given to a Chapter colleague who, through work and professional activities, has shown a promise of becoming an
outstanding member of the profession. To be eligible, a nominee must have been a Chapter member in good standing for four or fewer years.
Outstanding efforts on behalf of the Chapter, notable innovations on the job, participation in seminars or other similar activities which
benefit the Chapter or promote public recognition of the profession, will be the
criteria for final selection.
Information Management Award
This award recognizes an organization, served by a North Carolina special library, for its outstanding or notable support of library and
information science. The North Carolina Chapter Information Management Award will be presented at the last meeting of the chapter
year. Creative and innovative support of the library, its mission, and its staff will be the criteria for final selection.
