PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Part 1 – Membership Meeting

Required by headquarters, the annual membership meeting is where to learn what your board accomplished in 2009 and is the first time to meet the new officers for 2010. It is also a chance to learn about and volunteer for open positions on the advisory board.

Part 2 – Connecting People: Using a Web Q&A Forum to Facilitate Knowledge Transfer
This presentation will describe creation of an interactive web based question and answer forum to provide a means for a global, dispersed research organization to quickly and easily connect with each other to solve technical problems. The solution “Ask Technology” has been a success and a good complement to the more traditional expertise location database.

Anne Rogers manages the delivery of scientific and technical information services for Cargill in the U.S. Her recent work has focused on embedding Knowledge Management into standard business processes and how to best facilitate tacit knowledge transfer through use of online collaboration tools and virtual teams. A member of SLA since 1983, Anne is currently Strategic Planning Director for the Minnesota Chapter and Communications Chair for the KM Division.
