ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Please park on the North side of General Mills headquarters in either the ramp or the flat lot and enter the building through the employee entrance (not the visitor's entrance).

2) Check in with the security desk to show your ID and to receive a badge.

3) Wait for an escort to accompany you to the meeting area. Gail Wolfson, Julie Fleischhacker, or possibly a security guard will escort groups to the conference room. Attendees may have to wait a few minutes until an escort returns to the security desk.


COST

$30 for library association members (SLA, ASIS&T, SCIP, MALL, etc.)
$15 for students, unemployed, or retired
$35 for guests

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
- MAKING THE CASE FOR SLA:
SLA President-Elect Gloria Zamora will discuss the wide range of career opportunities available to those with a library degree and how membership in SLA can help to grow one's experience as an information professional.  She will also discuss the Association's Strategic Alignment Initiative and plans for the upcoming Centennial Celebration in 2009.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Gloria Zamora is employed by Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  She has 30 years of experience in the information industry. As a Government Affairs Manager at Sandia National Laboratories, Zamora tracks and analyzes federal legislation. She is currently on assignment as a congressional fellow and field representative in The Office of Senator Jeff Bingaman, (D-N.M.), where she is responsible for education and laboratory issues.  Gloria is currently the President-Elect of SLA and will begin her term as SLA president in January 2009. She is a Fellow of the Association and received the John Cotton Dana Award in 2007.
