If you would like more information on joining
the Special Libraries Association, please e-mail the Minnesota Chapter's
Membership Chair, Mary
Ettl (phone 651.223.3090) or join online via the SLA web site. Make sure to choose the Minnesota Chapter. Each member is allowed to enroll in one Chapter free of charge.
If you are a new member, congratulations on joining the Minnesota Chapter! We welcome you and thank you for your interest and support.
The Minnesota Chapter of SLA offers many advantages: local Chapter programs on current topics; professional development and continuing education; networking opportunities; membership directory; scholarship, awards, and recognition opportunities.
We encourage prospective and new members to
attend one of our Chapter events
to meet other members of the Chapter. If you do decide to go to
an event, make sure to mark down on your registration form that
you are a new or prospective member, and our hospitality committee
will make sure you won't be a wallflower (unless you want to be).
As a member, you are able to access the Chapter’s quarterly Bulletin. We're always looking for submissions. The guidelines and deadlines are also on that web page.
We encourage new members to submit a one or two paragraph bio for inclusion in the next quarterly Bulletin. Feel free to tell us about your professional and/or your personal life. It's always fun to get to know people. Please submit the bios to Sonia Krinke. She will collect them all and send them to the Bulletin editor.
Members are encouraged to participate in the Chapter’s email discussion list. Please see the instructions for subscribing to this list. Meetings are announced only via the discussion list and on the web calendar so it is important to sign up for the list.
Again, thank you for joining the Special Libraries Association and the Minnesota Chapter.
