The Career Guidance Committee of the Michigan Chapter, Special Libraries Association is sponsoring a program on mentoring. The purpose of this program is to bring experienced librarians and information professionals together with students and those new to the field in order to help them become integrated into the profession. All will benefit from this interpersonal contact. Librarians and information professionals who are willing to volunteer their time and are interested in sharing their expertise with another is a supportive relationship can be mentors. Mentees will be primarily Library and Information Science students at Wayne State University, and School of Information students at the University of Michigan.
Mentors and mentees will be "matched" according to their fields of interest, geographic location, and type of library. Each will be given the name and telephone number/e-mail address of their mentor/mentee. We hope that this experience will be rewarding to all involved. Thank you for your participation.
