“En route to the annual convention held at the Mayflower Hotel, Washington, DC, in 1929, several Baltimore Special Librarians discussed, at length, the possibilities of forming a local chapter.”
-- History of the Chapter’s First Year, Laura A. Woodward, Maryland Casualty Company, 1930
The active and dynamic Chapter that celebrated its 75th Anniversary on May 12, 2005 at the Engineers Club at the historic Garrett-Jacobs Mansion originated from a diverse group of Maryland non-profit, corporate, government, medical, legal and academic librarians that joined the Special Libraries Association in 1930
Our 75th Anniversary Gala is captured in the event details, menu, program, and particularly in the Anniversary Booklet which contains a brief Chapter history, reflections from past presidents, governmental proclamations and more.
