The Chapter has about $18,000.00 in available bank funds and this total is about where it was last year. Two years ago, the Chapter had about $25,000.00 in funds.
The decrease is reflected mostly in the celebration, in 2005, the Chapter's 75th anniversary and, in 2006, the SLA annual conference in Baltimore. This year, 2007, marks the end-of-term for the outgoing treasurer, Will Hires, who began as treasurer in 2003 when then treasurer, Marian Swirski left Maryland for Ohio.
The new treasurer is expected to be elected this Fall and take office in January 2008. Please vote when candidates for Chapter offices are announced.
