Spring 2006 Meeting at The Advocate

LaSoMi members were invited to tour The Advocate newspaper office and Library. Our hosts were Judy Jumonville, Advocate Library Manager, and John Sykes, Advocate Librarian. The tour featured viewing The Advocate press rooms, meeting rooms and Library. Participants were also given an electronic viewing of The Advocate's electronic media storage software, MerlinOne. A free lunch from the Honey Baked Ham Company was generously provided by LexisNexis. Lisl Zach, Chapter President, presented Bill Strickland of the Tulane University Libraries with a $1,000 travel stipend to the 2006 SLA Annual Meeting from Factiva. Congratulations Bill!
