The Louisiana/Southern Mississippi Chapter of SLA will hold its Fall gathering in conjunction with the Louisiana Association of Manuscripts and Archives' (LAMA) annual program on Friday, December 5 at Hill Memorial Library, courtesy of LAMA. There will be several interesting talks to choose from beginning at 9:00am. Starting at 3:15, the following tours will be available from which we may choose: Tours of the Textile and Costume Museum and Collection in the LSU Human Ecology Department; the LSU Art Museum; and Hill Memorial Library, the home of the LSU Special Collections. A complete description of the program, including talks and tours can be found in the attached brochure [see link above]. Registration deadline is Thursday, November 20. Our members are welcome to participate in any or all of the events. If you choose to participate in the morning programs and lunch, the fee for registration is $20, and only $15 for students. If you choose only to participate in the tours, there is no fee involved. Just be sure you state on your registration form, "Tour Only." I hope you will consider participating in this event, and we look forward to seeing you there. If you have questions you may contact either me (info below) or Tara Zachary at 225-578-6546 (email tzachar@lsu.edu). NOTE: Please indicate at the bottom of the Registration Form that you are a member of LaSoMi. This will help us know how many from each group will be coming. Thanks! Bill Armstrong notwwa@lsu.edu |
