According to the bylaws, additional names may be placed in nomination if filed with the Nominating Committee (Nancy Hanaford, Sarah Mayfield and Judy Wulff) at least 10 days before the annual business meeting. Additional nominations must be accompanied by a letter from the nominee indicating willingness to serve.
James E. Manasco
Candidate for President-Elect
James is Head Librarian, Shaver Engineering Library, University of Kentucky.
James has been a member of SLA and the Kentucky Chapter since the fall of 1994, when he first joined as a student member. He has been active at both the Chapter and Divisional levels. James' activities include:
James' interests and hobbies include: reading (anything science fiction or having to do with the history of women in the USA), bowling, playing cards with friends, getting thrown out of Annual Conference Open Houses, and living and dying by how the Kentucky Wildcats are doing (which means I'm not doing that well these days).
Mykie Howard
Candidate for Secretary
Mykie has served the University of Kentucky William T. Young Library as a Senior Library Technician in the Serials Department for the past three years. She completed her MLS at the University of Kentucky in December 2001 and is currently looking for a professional job in academic or special libraries.
Mykie has been a member of SLA for two years. She has been a member of the Kentucky and Cincinnati Chapters and the Business and Finance Division since her joining and has recently added the Information Technology Division and the Legal Division to her membership. Mykie has served the Kentucky Chapter as:

In addition, Mykie has published articles for the Kentucky Chapter, Cincinnati Chapter, and Legal Division and has attended Annual Conference the last two years. Mykie was also a volunteer teaching assistant last summer for UK's LIS 690 class: Special Libraries and Information Centers. SLA has and will continue to be an important and vital part of Mykie's career. She enjoys offering her time and talents and will continue to do so in the future.
Elizabeth Smigielski
Candidate for Director at Large
Elizabeth Smigielski is the Coordinator of Library Marketing at the Kornhauser Health Sciences Library, University of Louisville. She has been a member of the Kentucky Chapter of SLA since 1998 when she joined as a student member. She is currently the Chair of the Public Relations and the Diversity and Leadership Development (previously known as the Affirmative Action Committee) Committees. As Chair of these committees, she has coordinated efforts to grant two SLA membership awards to librarians representing diversity in our profession, and she has been working to promote the Chapter activities and special librarianship in general. She has also worked the Chapter membership committee to draw new members to the Chapter and profession. Elizabeth is also a member of the Medical Library Association. Prior to working at the University of Louisville, she was an Associate Fellow at the National Library of Medicine.
Stacey Greenwell
Candidate for Director at Large
Stacey Greenwell earned a B.A. in English and a Master's in Library and Information Science from the University of Kentucky. After graduation, she worked as Technical Services/Systems Manager at the Bowling Green (Ky.) Public Library. Last August, she became the Desktop Support Librarian for the University of Kentucky Libraries. Stacey has been active in the Kentucky Library Association and the American Library Association New Members' Roundtable. She has served on several committees for both organizations, and she is currently Chair-Elect of the KLA Information Technology Roundtable. Stacey joined SLA in 2001 and is a member of the ITE division.
