Join the Iowa Chapter
If you're already a member of SLA and would simply like to join our Chapter, you can contact Linda Broussard at SLA headquarters to arrange that. Every member is allowed one chapter affiliation free of charge, and additional chapter memberships are not very expensive.
If you're not yet a member of SLA, you can get more information, including an application form, at the SLA Web Site, or call the SLA Membership Office at 1-202-234-4700, ext. 671. When you register, simply indicate you would like to be affiliated with the Iowa Chapter.
...And Why You'll Want To!
SLA offers many benefits in its own right, which are detailed on the SLA Web site.
Iowa Chapter membership in particular offers the chance to meet and work with other Iowa information professionals like yourself. Sharing knowledge and finding solutions to both common and unique problems is a frequent benefit. Most meetings involve a continuing education portion on a topic of broad interest. Recent topics have included humor in the workplace, information extraction on the Web, branding and service marketing, getting organized, and competitive intelligence.
