International Special Libraries Day 1997

SLA and ALA International activities. Singing, dancing, storytelling, food.
Special guest from Mexico - Sr. Fernando Gonzalez, ALA International Library Fellow.

Time: 6:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Place: Auburn Avenue Research Library on African-American Culture and History

Cost: Librarians and guests: $5.00
Students and guests, unemployed and retired librarians: $3.00
Students bringing food to share: no charge.


The two SLA chapters' joint International Service Project is beginning. Assist a public library in the English-speaking island of Montserrat, West Indies. They really want a ten-person bookmobile. If you don't have one, bring books in good condition especially on gardening, cooking, building and construction, paperback light fiction and children's books and fiction in French and Spanish. SLA-GA Chapter contact for this project is Pam Urban.
