A new crop of technologies are shaping the way librarians and information professionals conduct research and interact with users.
SLA-GA invites its chapter members to sharpen their knowledge of cutting-edge communication technologies now impacting information professionals by attending a free lecture at the Georgia Tech Library entitled "Blogs, Social Bookmarking, RSS, Wikis, Text Messaging & RFID: An Overview of Next Generation Communication Tools."
This 90-minute session will provide an informal overview of emerging communication tools. Emphasis will be on the applied and potential applications for all types of libraries. The session includes some hands-on experience and will explore the professional and social use of these technologies.
