Workshop: Florida Chapter will cover a variety of presentations, from how to make effective stand-up presentations to groups, to desk-top-published and Web presentations, to one-on-one communication for excellent service. If communication is part of your job, this workshop will help you to do a better job.
Robert Ferrari, the library school student at the University of South Florida whom the Chapter co-sponsored to SLA Annual Conference in Seattle, will be our luncheon speaker.
Networking: Members of the Florida and Caribbean Chapter and Geogia Chapter will meet for an informal dutch-treat gathering in the Beach House Grille Lounge at the Sea Turtle Inn at 5:30pm on Thursday, October 16. Dining is available at the adjacent Beach House Grille. The Florida and Caribbean Chapter SLA Board will meet on Thursday evening, October 16 at 8PM in the Sea Turtle Inn. Breakfast, Business Meeting will be a continetal breakfast and Chapter business meeting beginning at 8AM of Friday, the 17th in the Sea Turtle Inn.

On-site registration which doesn not include meals is provided if space is available. Check-in and registration begin at 12:30 pm Oct. 16 or 8 am Oct. 17 at the respective meeting sites. Florida Coastal School of Law is about 1.75 miles west of Southside Blvd. (SR 115) at 7555 Beach Blvd. The two building complex is on the right. Sea Turtle Inn is due east of Jacksonville on Atlantic Blvd. The hotel is on your left at the Atlantic Ocean. (Shuttle Service is available for $15 at appointed times from the airport by reservation: call 1/800-849-4262 at least one day in advance). Sea Turtle Inn is located at One Beach Boulevard, Atlantic Beach FL 32233. For reservations call 800/874-6000 (mention SLA). Special room rate is $89 single or double for Oceanview; $159 single or double Oceanfront. Rate good for 3 days before & after workshop. Reservation deadline is September 15.
