A leader in the practice of law worldwide, with offices located in 25 countries around the world, this firm has leading practices in Corporate and Finance, Litigation, Intellectual Property, Government Affairs and Real Estate.   The Manager Library Systems position requires an adaptable, flexible, detail-oriented individual with the ability to work quickly and under pressure to be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of integrated library systems in multiple offices across the US .  

THE POSITION:  Key responsibilities include:  creation of project plans outlining schedules, parameters, costs, equipment and timelines to rollout new systems or system enhancements; ensuring systems are fully integrated and functional for cataloging, circulation, serials, acquisitions, and budgeting; evaluation of software needs for library operations; management and coordination of upgrades to the library systems;  working with Director to establish protocols to assure proper coding and budgeting in all offices and departments; using the integrated library systems to generate an accurate budget report for all offices and departments; assisting Director in developing a plan for centralizing all US technical functions where practical; recommending optimal workflow for maximum efficiency in staff operations; coordinating system and workflow changes with Head Librarians, IT, and Accounting; establishing benchmarks for technical services workflows, providing training and measures performance

REQUIREMENTS:  Excellent managerial, communication, and interpersonal skills are required to interact with all staff throughout the firm. Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience managing the technical service operations in a Library setting within a law firm, academic, or other professional services environment (law firm experience is strongly preferred) is required.   MLS and strong experience with budget management are required.
