M&A Senior Information Specialist

This premier law firm has an excellent opening in its New York office for a highly organized and dedicated individual with Mergers & Acquisitions experience, business knowledge, legal and business research experience.

THE POSITION:   The specialist will make extensive use of a number of internal databases, online resources and the internet, as well as providing solid administrative support for the firm's Corporate and Mergers & Acquisition groups.  In addition to conducting legal and business research for these two groups, responsibilities will include but are not limited to assisting with maintaining corporate files (data inputting, indexing and filing); monitoring current publications both online and in print, and apprising attorneys of developments in the field on a daily basis. The information specialist will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Research Services.  9:30am to 5:30pm schedule, some overtime.

REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s (MLS preferred) and five years minimum law firm or related corporate experience required. Merger & Acquisition experience required. Knowledge of basic business information resources, i.e., corporate documents.  Knowledge of SEC and EDGAR filings.  Experience with Word, Lotus Notes, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Access or Law Manager.  Able to work independently and work equally as well as part of a team.  Able to maintain confidentiality, exercise good judgment.  Excellent communication and writing skills.
