Our client, a global biopharmaceutical company
is seeking a Manager for their Medical Library. The company is primarily
engaged in the discovery, development and commercialization of innovative
therapies.
Responsibilities will include, but are not
limited to, the following:
- Manages (virtual) Library of the available
scientific and medical literature related to their products.
- Manages supporting Library personnel,
including professional development of department staff
- Institutes and maintains corporate and other
journal subscriptions
- Responsible for compliance with Copyright
Laws, maintains Copyright Clearance contract
- Responsible for Library budgeting
- Builds/maintains collaborative relationships
among and between all library users
- Creates and articulating a clear vision for
the Library and the future of library resources
- Participates in decision-making,
demonstrates strong leadership
- Oversees the virtual (server) and actual
(physical) space planning needs of Library facilities and collections
- Acquire/maintain/distribute scientific
literature as requested
- Conversion of documents to electronic media
for all our clients locations
- Utilize internet/electronic databases to
search for published literature on our clients’ products as needed.
- Order articles as required/identified.
- Provide metrics of articles orders and
identify need for corporate subscriptions
- Participate in other projects as identified
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Masters Degree in Library Science
- 5+ years of Library Management Experience in
the pharmaceutical or biotech industries, including management of personnel.
- Self-starter with the ability to work
independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication
skills
- Demonstrated strength in interpersonal and
communication skills
- Computer literacy required - Microsoft
Office- Word, Excel, Outlook
- Familiarity with electronic referencing
databases required
- Flexible team player with positive attitude,
able to prioritize projects
- Strong time-management, organizational, and
problem-solving capabilities.
