Giving Libraries a Second Life
in a Virtual World

Have you ever provided reference services for a fox? Ever flown to join a meeting with 25 other librarians who come from around the world? If your answer was "no" then you probably haven’t come across Second Life; a virtual immersive world that combines 3D visualization and social networking.  Second Life provides a platform for innovation within the realms of community, communication, collaboration, and content delivery.

Join us for a presentation and lively discussion on Second Life and hear how libraries, universities, corporations, and government agencies are exploring ways to exploit the opportunity to deliver content in three dimensions and build interactive communities around that content. Is it hype or the future of the Web?
