DC/SLA members and guests are invited to join the Military Librarians’ Group of DC/SLA for a visit to the U.S. Naval Observatory. We will tour the Gillis Library and gaze at the stars and satellites above the Washington, D.C. area through one of the observatory's telescopes. |

Tuesday, September 16, 2008,   7:00 p.m. We will begin the evening by touring the library. Please arrive about half an hour early to get through security and find parking. |

U.S. Naval Observatory Corner of 34th and Massachusetts Ave, NW Washington, DC Nearest METRO station is Woodley Park/Zoo (red line), but this does not appear to be a convenient walk. |
| ACCESS: |
The U.S. Naval Observatory is a government research center under the jurisdiction the United States Navy. Visitors must enter through the South Gate off of Observatory Circle. Please bring photo identification such as a Drivers License with you. |
| REGISTRATION: |
Please RSVP by close of business Friday, September 12. Security at the Naval Observatory requires a list of participants in advance of the event. RSVP to Deborah Keller at deborah.eb.keller@us.army.mil or 703-428-7432. There is no charge for this event. |
