As part of its "twinning project" with librarians in developing
countries, the DC/SLA Chapter International Projects Committee is
pleased to announce the winning recipient of funding for a two-year SLA
membership for the years 2002-2004.
Dr. Krishana Gopal Tyagi is Director of the National Social Science
Documentation Centre at the Indian Council for Social Science Research
in New Delhi, India. He holds a Masters in Library and Information
Science, and M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science. He is associated with
many major programs and policy issues related to Library and Information
Services in Social Science in India. He is also very active in training
workshops for academics and librarians and in developing teaching kits
and modules.
Dr. Tyagi is playing a leading role in a number of local, regional and
global associations, such as the Delhi Library Network, the Information
and Library Network (INFLIBNET), the Asia-Pacific Information Network
(APINESS) and the International Committee for Social Science Information
and Documentation (ICSSD).
Please welcome Dr. Tyagi to the DC chapter and its International
Projects Committee. He also will be a member of two SLA divisions: 1)
Information Technology and 2) Social Science.
