Voting is now open for the SLA Board of Directors. Go to the SLA Web site to read candidate bios and cast your vote.

Registration is open for the SLA 2006 conference, to be held June 11-14 in Baltimore. The SLA Maryland Chapter has created a Baltimore 2006 Web site to help you plan your trip. See you there!

The Fall 2005 issue of KeyNotes, our chapter newsletter, is now available. Highlights include a reprint of an article about special libraries that appeared in the Patriot-News and an article about MapQuest's Freile Research Center.

Our next chapter meeting will be held on October 25 at the American Philatelic Research Library in Bellefonte. Don’t miss your chance to tour the largest philatelic library open to the public in the United States in their newly renovated home! This meeting is also our annual business meeting, and we will vote on new chapter officers for 2006. See the events page for details.

A draft of our chapter's new Recommended Practices (which will replace the old Procedures Manual) has been posted in the Members Only Section of the web site. We will discuss this draft at our next meeting. Read the document, and come to the meeting with your questions and comments.

The Central Pennsylvania Chapter Web site has been given a makeover! Please let the webmaster know what you think of the new look. Also, don't be afraid to ask if you can't find a part of the site you're used to visiting. While I have sought feedback from the web committee and chapter officers, I'm always open to suggestions from chapter members - or anyone else who visits our site. Significant structural changes include moving the navigation links to the top of every page, moving the resources links to the right side of the home page, and updating the help/FAQ page.
