The following message contains updated
information about the merger between the Connecticut Valley Chapter of SLA and
the SLA Boston Chapter
Welcome:
During 2007, further study and discussion (begun in 2006) took place to explore a merger between the Connecticut Valley Chapter of SLA and SLA Boston. The CVC chapter board, after much thought and careful consideration, voted to recommend the merger of CVC with SLA Boston in October 2007. The Boston Board concurred in November 2007. This was followed by a vote in favor of the merger by members from both chapters. The SLA Board of Directors approved the merger at the Leadership Summit in January 2008.
Effective February 1, 2008, the Connecticut Valley Chapter was merged into the SLA Boston Chapter. The former Connecticut Valley Chapter is now a programming region within the larger Boston Chapter, and active programming will continue in the Connecticut area. You may refer to the announcements page of the SLA Boston web site for additional information about the merger process itself and the terms of the merger.
You can stay current with news about programming, careers, and other items of interest for the Connecticut Valley area by joining the Boston discussion list (all former members of the CVC discussion list should have been migrated to the Boston list in early 2008). I urge you to do so.
Thank you.
