Mary T. Kim Memorial Scholarship
 

Purpose of Scholarship:

The CO-SLA Mary T. Kim Memorial Scholarship in Special Librarianship is presented to a student enrolled in an ALA-accredited Master’s program in library and information science who expresses an interest in Special Librarianship.  To apply, one must either be an Ohio resident or enrolled in an Ohio-based library and information science program.  The recipient receives a cash award of two hundred dollars ($200.00) and a letter of congratulations from the President at the Association’s Spring Meeting.

Applications must be received by May 1, 2007.

Supporting Documentation:

In addition to the application, the applicant must furnish a brief statement (200 words or less) as to their interest in Special Librarianship and why s/he would be a good candidate to receive the CO-SLA Mary T. Kim Memorial Scholarship.  Applications must include the signature of the student’s academic advisor certifying that s/he is a student in good standing.

Criteria for selection:

The Scholarship will be awarded to the applicant who most effectively demonstrates through the application their interest in and potential for Special Librarianship.

Stipulations:

The award must be used in the current or following academic year (deadline of June 30, 2008).  The scholarship funds will be dispersed following receipt of proof of educational expense (i.e. tuition, books, lab fees, meeting attendance, professional dues, etc.).
