President's Message February 22, 2007 Dear Members of Central Ohio SLA, As the world around us is in constant change, both globally and personally, it is a privilege for me to be a part of CO-SLA as it develops, adapts, and grows in its environment. 2007 is our first year following the conventional year-end calendar and will require adjustments to fit. 2007 holds great promise as a year for learning about our profession, about each other professionally, and about each other as people with common interests. Volunteering to help Central Ohio SLA is a way to help others in our profession as well as contributing on a personal level to help building a stronger organization. CO-SLA has the potential and promise to change the career path of many local graduates as I witnessed last year during the Kent Student Day at Work CO-SLA held last spring. It also has the potential to create a more rewarding and truly useful experience for those with established careers. Building a stronger CO-SLA depends on volunteers. I encourage you to contribute your time, your news and publications, and most of all your ideas and energy towards how CO-SLA can do more for its members. There are few better local opportunities available to network and learn than CO-SLA. Please visit at: http://units.sla.org/chapter/ccno/index.htm I hope to see you all at SLA in Denver this June! John Holtzclaw President, CO-SLA |
