CHAPTER AWARDS

Each year, the Chapter awards members for their outstanding Chapter and professional accomplishments (Meritorious Achievement) and for demonstrating leadership potential (Horizon). The Chapter also provides an award for organizations which acknowledge the value of their special library (Information Management Award). The Awards are presented each year at the Annual Business meeting.

Meritorious Achievement Award

The Meritorious Achievement Award recognizes a Cincinnati chapter member of four or more years, for notable and enduring contributions to the Chapter and the profession. This award represents a cumulative evaluation of an individual's career and emphasizes local activity and leadership of an exemplary nature.

Horizon Award

The Horizon Award recognizes a Cincinnati Chapter member of four years or less for promise of becoming an outstanding member of the Chapter, and who has demonstrated the potential for achieving distinction in areas of professional concern and activity, particularly related to local involvement and contributions to the Chapter. The award represents an evaluation of an individual's work and professional activities.

Information Management Award

The Information Management Award recognizes an organization which is served by a special library in Cincinnati. The award represents an evaluation of the organization's support for their special library, the Special Libraries Association, the Cincinnati Chapter, and the organization's acknowledgement of the value of special libraries to the parent organization.
