The Job: The Manager of Data Operations will be responsible for overseeing teams that focus on a wide range of ongoing data operations, including the coordination of processes carried out by offshore partners. This person will play a key role in major business process and data system upgrades, as well as take a leadership role on data quality initiatives. The Manager of Data Operations will work closely with both internal contacts, including senior management, and external contacts such as third party providers and partners. The right candidate will have a significant impact on the companys ability to implement new systems and improve business processes in an efficient and timely manner.
Lead and manage the team
responsible for category-leading rights repository.
Oversee processes and procedures related to data operations.
Become familiar with company data systems and business processes and procedures.
Manage all aspects of record maintenance and updating title and rights information.
Develop and maintain manual and automated processes to load title and rights
information from third party providers and publishers.
Maintain ongoing accounts and ensure successful communication with rightsholders
by working closely with customer service and other internal teams.
Provide leadership in terms of overall data quality and integrity for title
and right data.
Develop and implement quality control procedures.
Define and oversee a metrics program for the Data Operations group.
Work closely with technical resources to identify solutions to data and business
problems.
What It Takes
The selected candidate will have:
College degree, MLS preferred.
7-10 years experience with complex data systems or information management.
Proven experience supporting operational processes for complex data systems
featuring structured metadata Direct experience in the library or publishing
areas.
Strong experience in a management position.
Previous experience building QC/QA processes for data systems.
Experience with order processing or CRM systems.
Experience working with offshore partners a plus.
Strong experience working with high volume bibliographic or publication data.
Excellent communication skills.
