Summary Description:
A Researcher III serves as a Lead Researcher for a specific area of specialization/focus
- typically an industry or technical domain - and works collaboratively with
their cross-functional Analytics counterparts to meet the research support needs
of that domain/sector. This includes the daily management of research project
workflow in coordination with the Research Services Manager and the Research
& Analytics Leadership Team (RALT). The Researcher III also works very closely
with Domain Managers, Client Drivers and Client Service staff to embed research
deliverables into KM applications, the account planning process and client engagements/deliverables.
Responsibilities include: managing research request flow through a project database;
consulting with researchers and analysts to develop research strategies for
specific projects; and ensuring that outgoing work is quality checked and delivered
in a timely manner. A deep understanding of available research databases and
creative approaches to finding information is required. This individual will
also be responsible for managing long-term research and content projects.
Scope of Responsibility:
The Researcher III coordinates and guides research activities for a number of
key stakeholder groups including Domain Management, Client Drivers and client
service staff across the U.S. This role requires the ability to select cost-effective
research solutions and to direct colleagues in the use of those solutions. This
role is involved in critical Q&R processes for client deliverables and requires
a thorough understanding of all relevant firm IP guidance and the associated
risk issues.
Responsibilities:
•Apply deep knowledge of Firm strategy/organization as well as the relevant
domain/sector to develop research solutions.
•Work closely with Analytics counterpart to coordinate domain/sector research
approach.
•Within domain/sector work with Domain Managers, Client Drivers and client service
teams to guide and assist specific research and content projects (both ongoing
and short term).
•Conduct reference interviews to develop full scope of requests and to understand
strategic driver(s) behind those requests.
•Liaise with other PwC research groups and resources as needed to build a research
support network for the domain/sector.
•Analyze and synthesize findings into actionable research that adds value.
•Efficiently manage research resources relevant to assigned domain/sector ensuring
that the appropriate tools are being used and that we are using them in a cost-effective
manner.
•Identify opportunities to provide navigational/training instructions to both
research staff and research seekers and ensure training is delivered in an effective
manner.
•Evaluate data elements and analysis where applicable for use in proposals,
client documents, marketing publications, thought leadership, etc.
•Proactively work with vendor contacts to supply key domain/sector stakeholders
with timely and pertinent information on an ongoing basis, as well as developing
solutions to research/content challenges.
•Develop and deliver presentations on research tools and techniques to key domain/sector
stakeholders.
•Identify opportunities to present to external organizations to support the
firm objectives in establishing distinction.
•Identify new products and services produced within domain/sector research team
to serve specific and recurring research needs.
•Mentor and coach mentoring of domain/sector research team members.
•Understand, appropriately apply and communicate firm risk issues such as copyright
and licensing.
