Job Posting: Information Specialist - Mergers & Acquisitions (Two Positions, One Senior and One Junior)

Excellent openings in this premier law firm’s New York office for two highly organized and dedicated individuals with business knowledge, legal and business research experience. Specialists will make extensive use of a number of internal databases, online resources and the internet, as well as providing solid administrative support for the firm's Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions groups.
The Position: Provide legal and business research for Corporate and Merger & Acquisition groups. In addition to providing research the duties of the position include but are not limited to assisting with maintaining corporate files (data inputting, indexing and filing); monitoring current publications both online and in print and apprising attorneys of developments in the field on a daily basis. Organizing legal practice group luncheons for Continuing Legal Education. There will be extensive use of a number of internal databases, online resources and the internet.
Requirements: MLS preferred. BA and 3-5 years law firm or related corporate experiences required. Knowledge of basic business information resources, i.e., corporate documents. Knowledge of SEC and EDGAR filings. Experience with Word, Lotus Notes, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Access or Law Manager. Able to work independently with minimal supervision, and work equally as well as part of a team. Able to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment. Excellent communication and writing skills.
Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with some overtime.
