Position: Information Analyst

Cytec Industries (http://www.cytec.com), a leading global specialty chemicals and materials manufacturer, has a temporary contract position available for an Information Analyst who has a least two years experience working in the Chemical or Pharmaceutical Industries. This position is for a 9 month period starting in July 2008 and is located in Stamford, Connecticut USA. The Analyst will be working with a team of Knowledge Management experts in a Research and Development environment and will support global research centers.

Specific requirements are:
•Working knowledge of chemical information resources, STN, Chemical Abstracts, global patent databases and associated searching methodologies and techniques is required.
•Familiarity with advanced tools such as Micropatent Aureka and STN Anavist would be desirable.
•Ability to undertake comprehensive literature and structure searching projects of moderate complexity
•Working knowledge of the main global patenting systems, USPTO, EPO, PCT.
•Working knowledge of mainstream IT industry technologies, office tools etc
•Providing timely and accurate searches in support of critical IP processes (Freedom-to-operate, patentability and infringement).
•Developing and delivering current awareness searching profiles.
•Ability to work independently and prioritize workload
