Business Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Content Management, the Content Integration & Metadata Specialist is a member of the Investment Information Services (IIS) Content Management Team whose main responsibility is to ensure seamless electronic integration and delivery of “best in class” internal and external investment content that is leveraged, visible and valued by FMR Investment Professionals. The Content Integration Specialist is ultimately responsible for overall content quality and driving continuous improvement of IIS research applications (e.g., Resource InSite, Resource Locator, People Locator, and Sector/Industry Portals.)

Position Summary:
In addition to content responsibilities, the Content Integration Specialist also serves as project manager who develops schedules, deliverables, and testing to ensure IIS research applications are highly utilized and closely aligned with FMR Investment professional content needs. As an individual contributor, the Content Integration Specialist must successfully liaise with key content stakeholders - Information Consultants, Web Development, Training & Recruiting and other FMR systems teams, and bring issues to successful resolution. Key tasks include: facilitation of new content assessments and vetting of content sources, timely integration of disparate sources of content, user testing, access rights management, metrics analysis, and implementation of feature enhancements to meet new business requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

Content Management & Quality Control
• Content Development and Implementation
• Works with Content Management team and other representatives of internal investment research organizations to identify, evaluate, and implement new content
• Partners closely with IIS MD&R team to research and evaluate new content sources and ensure content with high relevance and importance to Analysts and Portfolio Managers
• Develops interface specifications for on-screen content presentation
• Works closely with Taxonomy & Publishing Manager to implement metadata schemes and ensure mappings drive high quality retrieval
• Designs, develops and ensures implementation of processes and procedures for efficient content editing
• Creates requirements for and coordinates implementation of content editing tools and applications
• Defines and oversees Authorization and Access requirements for IIS portal applications

Content Editing
• Manages content editing function for a portfolio of internal and external sources
• Designs processes and standards for content contributors
• Creates and maintains overall project documentation
• Troubleshoots and problem solves issues connected with both indexing standards and content placement within IIS application
• Coordinates final web page sign-offs

Vendor Management
• Tracks and resolves issues connected with content evaluation, product enhancements, trouble shooting
• Oversees statistics reporting, usage metrics, and licensing
• Coordinates with IIS Vendor Relations team to strategize and negotiate best price and contract terms and conditions for services, as appropriate

Version Management
• Defines future goals for overall content focus and functionality to best support FMR Investment Professionals
• Researches and defines requirements for new versions of application
• Collaborates with IIS MD&R team to develop internal marketing and training programs for new versions and ongoing support
• Manages user testing and feedback processes and decision-making

Development Cycle Management
• Manages coordination of work schedules across programming and content editing functions
• Drives Content project team meeting agendas, schedules and meeting minutes

Education and Experience:

• Experience working in the Financial Services Industry
• Masters of Library & Information Science (MLS) or advanced Business degree
• At least 7+ years experience in a corporate setting
• Cataloging and classification experience

Skills and Knowledge:
• In-depth experience with a variety of business, financial and industry information resources
