The Position:
Egon Zehnder International offers Practice Specialists a fast-paced, highly stimulating, entrepreneurial environment and the opportunity to work with a diverse group of former business leaders. The Board of Director Practice Specialist will proactively generate the content for both new business development and assignment execution activities for one of EZI’s fastest growing practices. By working closely with the Co-Practice Leaders, this individual will manage key accounts, build intellectual capital for the practice nation wide, and monitor practice performance metrics. The Practice Specialist will direct the efforts of a small virtual team of researchers to help meet the daily demands of this busy practice.
Position Description:
Intellectual Capital and Business Development:
•Develop and execute a strategy to position EZI’s Global Board of Director
Practice as a market leader in terms of strategic leadership, consulting and
intellectual capital/thought leadership
•Produce ‘best in class’ pitch documents by analyzing EZI’s track record,
governance trends, and building the firm’s knowledge about particular industries,
companies, and executives
Practice Support and Strategy:
•Identify business development opportunities, in conjunction with the consultants,
through targeted and long-term monitoring of companies and sub-sectors
•Expand new and existing client relationships through proactive candidate identification
and industry knowledge development
•Proactively work with the consultants to ensure that they have immediate access
to relevant sources pertaining to specific candidate pools
•Assist the co-practice leaders in strategic analysis of practice performance,
budgeting and forecasting and internal communications
Data Integrity and Infrastructure:
•Update and oversee the operations of EZI’s proprietary database and intranet
•Monitor recent developments affecting companies and key executives that currently
serve on corporate boards
•Build a mechanism to identify new or next generation board of director candidates
Ideal Candidate:
•The ideal candidate will have worked for a research-intensive firm and
have experience in consulting, conducting market research, competitive intelligence,
or executive search
•Intellectual curiosity and sound business judgment are critical
•Preference for individuals who have received an MBA, JD or other relevant degrees.
•This individual must demonstrate strong communications skills with an ability
to develop relationships with a range of practice members, other practice specialists
and clients worldwide.
•The candidate should demonstrate a proven ability to juggle priorities and
manage a number of competing demands at once.
•Attention to detail is critical. The individual must strive for precision and
accuracy when preparing materials for new business development presentations
and client reports.
•He or she should be creative, self-motivated, proactive and persistent.
•The individual must have a very strong client service orientation – always
seeking to please both the internal clients (EZI employees) and the external
clients.
•Knowledge of corporate governance issues and trends a plus.
