14. Continued - Other: 1. I attend meetings when they are in the Phoenix area and concern a topic relevant to my work. 2. When I was in Arizona there seemed to be very little notice of events. Do you have a listserv? 3. I attend meetings, etc. but as an officer I often feel that my time constraints from my workload prevent me from always completing as much SLA work as I would like to. 4. The occasional meeting in Tucson. 5. I'd be happy to participate virtually, write for the newsletter, etc. I do attend meetings and events in Tucson whenever possible.

Guest interviews with members and outside professionals to complement a theme in the Bulletin. For example a CIO talking about emerging technologies or a futurist from one of our AZ colleges to talk about future information needs. 10. Include more feature-type articles on topics not just news and announcements written by chapter members. Is there a regular publishing schedule? 11. More timely information. Often announcements are made in the bulletin for events that have already taken place. 12. I like the printable PDF format.

1. I find the website to be very useful especially for finding people and locating job opportunities. 2. Send Address 3. Be up to date. 1. I really look forward to meeting chapter members and getting more involved with the organization. I am relatively new to the Phoenix area and am currently seeking employment. I would like to see more activities/programs for recents grads and those who are new to the field. I would love to be involved in getting something off the ground to help such individuals. The SLA chapter in Florida (where I did my MLS) has an active mentoring program to provide grad students and recent grads with advice and support. I think having something for those who are new to the field and young would encourage them to join SLA-AZ and get involved. 2. I like getting e-mail/listserv reminders when the Bulletin has been posted to the Web site or new job announcements have been posted. I need that reminder to go have a look. 3. More regular communication from local SLA chapter to members. 4. I would really like to attend some bigger name better topics kind of events even if that means having fewer programs per year and paying more for each program. It's possible that if the programs and less frequent but cost a bit more that I could get reimbursed by my employer for attending. Right now the cost is low but I don't get reimbursed and if I go to every program it still adds up to a fair amount of money and a lot of travel for me. 5. No. 6. There's got to be a way to set ourselves apart from the specialty organizations that are siphoning off our members. We have a scattered approach to providing benefits for our membership and need a unifying goal or theme to work toward. Of course, this is easy for me to say! These are rough times; budgets are diminishing and travel funds are often the first to go. I think we should explore videoconferencing in a different way--live meetings for example. But that requires specialized equipment. Perhaps it's an idea that could be explored in the major cities, though.
