Dr. Sandeep Kumar Pathak has rich experience of 15 years in this profession. Dr Pathak holds BSc (pcm), MSc(IT), MLibISc, DCA, PhD (Library & Information Science, University of Pune).
Dr. Pathak is currently working as Dy. Librarian at Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, Himachal Pradesh (INDIA). Prior to joining IIT Mandi, he worked as Assistant Librarian at IIT Kharagpur for over 6 years. He also worked at Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysic (IUCAA), Pune for over 6 years. He did his professional training at Institute for Plasma Research (IPR) Gandhinagar and INFLIBNET Centre, Ahmedabad.
His major contribution areas are, complete automation of Central Library, digital library initiatives, Library website creation, implementation of INDEST Consortium at IIT Mandi. Dr. Pathak is a member Secretary of Library Advisory Committee of IIT Mandi.
Dr. Pathak is a recipient of Merit Scholarship at School and University level. Dr. Pathak Received 2nd best research paper award by ASIS&T (American Society for Information Science & Technology) (SIG-III), Maryland, USA on July 28, 2008.

Editor, Proceeding of NCIMDiL (National conference on Information Management in Digital Libraries) 2006 during August 2-4, 2006 held at IIT Kharagpur;
Editor, Souvenir, 8th Technology Book Fair (Feb 21-24, 2007), IIT Kharagpur;
Co-chaired, 8 Technical Sessions during National Conference (NCIMDiL 2006) (August 2-4, 2006).
Dr. Pathak has Specialization in Building and Managing Digital Libraries; Digital Collection & Management; Information Seeking Behaviour of Users; User Education & Orientation programme; Consortium formation for e-journals; e-books; full text databases; e-Resource Acquisition & management, Online Access Management, Information Literacy; Design and Development of Databases Information; Information analysis, Depth Classification & Depth Cataloguing.
Dr. Pathak has supervised seven minor projects at IIT Kharagpur. He has organised few National Conferences / Workshop / Book fairs / Science Day. He has been invited at many places as Guest Lecturer / Resource Person.
Dr. Pathak has took initiate to implement Open Source Software (KOHA) successfully in Central Library, IIT Mandi, HP, INDIA. IIT Mandi is the first IIT in INDIA to implement Open Source Software (KOHA).
Dr. Pathak is a life member of following Indian library associations:
