SLA Asian Chapter has been organizing many regional meetings and workshops recently, and the first
International Conference of Asia Special Libraries
(ICoASL2008) was held in 2008 at India Islamic Culture
Centre, Delhi, India, in association with Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centres
(IASLIC) and Society for Library Professionals (SLP).
The principal objective of ICoASL is to provide a platform for exchange of
knowledge and skills relevant to Information Professionals in Asia with a global perspective.
The 2nd ICoASL, a three days conference on “Building User Trust: The Key to Special Libraries
Renaissance in the Digital Era”, will offer an opportunity to put
forward innovative plans, debate classic ideas, and promote closer cooperation
among colleagues in association with Japan Special Libraries
