Florine Oltman Award

In 1983 the Alabama Chapter established the Oltman Award in memory of Florine Oltman, who served as both Chapter President and President of the Special Libraries Association (1970-1971). One of her main interests was in recruiting and encouraging young people to enter the library profession and especially the special library field. The award is given to a student who is studying to serve in a special library setting.

To be eligible for the award, students must be currently enrolled in a master's degree program in Library and Information Studies within the state of Alabama or have graduated from such a program within the previous 12 months.
