GLIC Takes Philly by Storm!!
This year's SLA annual conference was held
in the "City of Brotherly Love"! Can you think of a better
place for GLIC members to meet, greet, and bask in the profession? Aside
from a trip to the conveniently scheduled Philadelphia Pride Parade &
Festival and a wonderful evening out at a local restaurant, GLIC also held its
annual business meeting. If you missed out on the activities or just need
a refresher on what we discussed, Go to GLICNews.
Next year it's San Antonio or Bust! Hmmmmm.....
Jobs, Jobs, Jobs!
Tired of your job? Maybe it's time
you found a new one! Your Webmaster has been scouring the Internet
looking for library and information jobs posted as being "gay
friendly" or listed on glbt mailing lists. The list is growing!
If you are looking for a job or know of one opening, Go to GLICNews.
Keeping the News A'Coming!
Last month we added the scrolling news
ticker powered by the folks at Gaywire! This month, look for a button at the top
of our news page that will bring you the latest in glbt news headlines from
GFN.com. Your Webmaster has entered into a special agreement with GFN to
give GLIC members instant access to GFN's daily headlines direct from our own
Web pages. Go to GLICNews.
Behold the Site of the Month!
The "Site of the Month" feature
is designed to highlight the best in glbt content providers on the web. A
new site will be feature each month and all previous sites will be added to
GLIC's list of links. This month we feature The Gay Financial Network
(GFN.com). The site offers a plethora of valuable content on financial and
personal planning for gay and lesbian couples - as well as major business news
from around the world. Free membership provides even greater access to
this treasure of a site! See it today at GLICLinks.
Mentoring Information Available Soon!
We have begun uploading information on
GLIC's new mentoring program. Information on how the program will work as
well as rules for mentors and advisees will be available on our site. We
are also in the process of creating a form that will allow interested mentors
and advisees to sign up online! Keep an eye on GLICNews.
We Need You!
The GLIC Web site is YOUR site! What would
you like to see on it? For this site to be successful we need to hear from our
members. Please send announcements, useful links, job postings, articles of
interest, and even member news. Of course, your suggestions and complaints are
always welcome! Help us to improve our home on the Web! Let's make this the
premier site for gay and lesbian information professionals! Send all submissions
